How do i enter blackrock depths

Everyone was confused so I suggested for the heck of it to go and kill the Interrogator. At this point we had been through 3 other tanks and the wait was rediculous as it was and it had been ages since I last ran this place on an alt.

Last time I tried to do the--prison-- part we attemped to do more of the BRD but found that bosses such as the fella surrounded by gnomes Golem Lord Argelmach and the whole grim guzzle room was ready to fight because the bosses were somehow already dead on the floor and grayed out keeping us from continuing.

I mention this because of the posts I had read about people having the U BRD being glitched trying to complete it, or killing the Interrogator and nothing happening either.

I was curious to what exactly consisted of the "upper brd random instance queue" and that is what brought me here. Comment by Animosa Many had it pointed it out already, but i can't hold back myself too, this is a great dungeon, and splitting it to 2 part was not a bad move. But the endboss killcredit for the Detention Block part is terrible. The randomers only kill the interrogator, and that is the dungeon for them.

Then why shall we got quest that lead to the black vault, for example? I suggest, that the endboss kill credit shall be the Dark Keepers at lest, if not the Eastern Garrison. Comment by ceasure If you que for Lower BRD you have to kill High Interrogator Gerstahn for your loot bag, and if you que Uper BRD you have to kill Emperor Dagran Thaurissan , I have ran so many Uper BRD pugs as tank and people yelling their nuts off that we have to kill High Interrogator Gerstahn and that I'm wasting their time only for them to figure out that we didn't get a loot bag at the so called 'end' of the dungeon.

Comment by worthit Just a little info You can enter this dungeon on foot at lvl Detention Block You can queue this dungeon as specific dungeon lvl In the specific dungeon finder, this dungeon is orange difficulty lvl , yellow difficulty lvl and green difficulty lvl You can queue this dungeon as random dungeon lvl You have to be lvl 47 to obtain the quests, although the class quests requires lvl 50 and the quest The Heart of the Mountain requires lvl Upper City You can queue this dungeon as specific dungeon lvl You have to be lvl 51 to obtain the quests.

See more in this guide. Even if you're in a group. He's got a powerful knockback that will knock you into the lava, which is real tough to get out of and will kill you. And you're not exactly in a position to be ressurected; you need to respawn.

I had to shout new teammates out of it in my second run, and we pulled him out with a few Range attacks before the Full Melee guys who had rushed in got themselves killed from it.

But he can't knock you into the lava if you're able to fight from outside the room; he'll just knock you back regular. Comment by NarumiYanagi I believe it started in 5. You spawn at the mole machine. This definitly makes it shorter, but only makes it a lot harder to complete the boss quest line as most groups still continue to stop after the High Inquisitor.

Blizz seriously needs to change the end boss for the first half to the Guzzler bosses. Having done this a thousand times, I wasn't looking at my health. After attacking an NPC swimming in the lava, I happened to glance at it and was down to 23, from 75, wondering, "What kind of level 54 Fireguard Destroyer was that? After briefly soiling my undergarments from the shock, called upon the spirit of Michael Phelps, assisting my swimming efforts, then Heroic Leaped onto the next set of rocks with about 2, health remaining.

So point being, the lava has become exactly what it should be Comment by Adhara It should be noted that as of patch 6. It's either closed when you get in if you port in with the Direbrew's Remote or open when you get in through the instance portal.

When it's open, the passage between the East and West Garrisons is blocked, keeping you from completing at least one quest. I tried farming this dungeon yesterday through the instance portal, so the big doors were open , became frustrated at the apparent inability to run through the entire thing on one visit, and logged off. Today I tried again, porting with the Direbrew Remote, and found that by taking a long and convoluted path through the Shadowforge City, I can reach the opposite side of the big doors, which are closed on this run; but at least I'm able to reach all the bosses this way.

Comment by gregb As for my for 2 cents. I have been a player for a long time and was immensely bored with my many garrisons and the extreme lack of depth in any of the new dungeons. Decided to go back and make another hunter and have been enjoying the grand dungeons of the past as well as the low level questing and such.

Such a deeper game. Queued up for Detention Block when I hit level 53 and was so happy to get there. It's a long dungeon but so many varied things to do as we all know to prevent it from ever being boring. And if wanting to level up you can get a mass amount of experience.

The problem being you can't find a group EVER at my level to run the thing from start to finish. It's always a "speed run" now. Mole machine to Grim Guzzler, kill boss, done Its hard to believe with, in my opinion, the lack of depth and hardly anything interesting at level that people are in such a hurry to get there. We used to take a few breaks and enjoy the dungeon, the interaction and the storylines.

People really have no idea what they are missing when they don't stop to enjoy what a great game this was in the past. Que in to the dungeon through the dungeonfinder, it is worth doing this from it's available at lvl 47 to you no longer is able to que up for it. Around level 55 When you get in, get everyone to agree doing the speedruns harder than it should be considering the fast rewards. After that, take the mole-machine to "just past grim guzzler".

When you are there, you can do it two ways, both requiring you to jump down to the walkway below you where Lord incendious is. Optimally, pull the ones on the other side while jumping down.

Kill Lord Incendious and the adds there. When you are done there should be a hord of adds coming your way, and possibly the second boss as well. If thats the case, just kill them all off and you are done! Easy and ALOT of experience, then just re-queue and do it all over again. Kill him and re-queue. If you plan on mass running it, take the time of the first time you entered the dungeon so you know when it resets and you can enter it again and start all over.

Hope this was helpful, want as many as possible to know this information since it makes the levels at least so much faster. Comment by oruchimaru Yeah so huess what I spenk nearly 40 mins just trying to find the place. The entrance is actually on ground level. Then you go full straight till you see the portal.

And after that guess what " instance is closed" I have never been so disappointed in my entire life. Comment by Campfreddie This is just personal opinion and all that. You can get lost down in the cavernous depths of it and not just literally, I sometimes go down into BRD just to reminisce and get lost in my memories I also come down to see if there is anything I've missed.

Pretty much every time I go there I find something I haven't found before. It's my instance of solace from the horrors of trade chat.

My one piece of advice to anyone who reads this post, is that the next time you venture into BRD, try to take your time and explore. Mainly however, and I can not stress this enough, turn down your music and turn up your ambiance.

Comment by Vlinkz I keep wishing some of the dungeons would have where it's located as well sometimes. Also that sometimes the guides doesn't need much of talks and should just get to the point or maybe just get to the point mode at the bottom.

Comment by lethalmikey Blackrock Depths: Upper City does not have any quests whatsoever! Had me searching Comment by xRodge As 7. The original dungeon was a good design at the time, with higher level creatures the further in you went. This allowed the difficulty to get higher, the further you progressed. However, it wasn't advised at all to go in at the lower end of the level scale - you really wouldn't get very far. However, now the creatures will all scale to our level.

So we'll experience the dungeon as an adventure, knowing that everything in the instance will be doable. At this point, we don't fully know how level scaling and progression will work.

There are a lot of mobs and bosses here, I do hope there's a good player range of levels allowed to go here I believe the Searing Gorge area is only for level and that we don't outlevel the place in a single run XP in dungeons on pre I also hope that the Heirloom scaling keeps them from being overpowered and 1-shotting things like on live.

I really hope that some kind of cc is required, but that might be a bit much to hope for - I rarely see any need for that even in raids these days. In short, I'm looking forward to BRD being challenging fun, on an epic dungeon scale!

Comment by Mickymcgee This place is one of my favorite dungeons to farm for transmog. There are so many mobs to kill, and it is extremely difficult to hit instance cap. If your interested in farming the instance yourself, below is a link to a video I made to show a friend how to run it Kinda long as its a big instance. Don't forget to bring some bear tartar with you for the speed boost.

Comment by blizzard60 How to get to BRD Head west to the Blackrock Mountains If you complete that succesfully you can talk to Horde Manapoof or Alliance Manapoof to get you in front of the entrance.

All your alts have also access to this teleport. This summons Hurley Blackbreath. Ribbly Screwspigot Talk to Ribbly Screwspigot. Click on the only dialog option. Kill him and his goons. Turn them in to Private Rocknot. He will then move towards the kegs and break them open. This starts a riot and turns Phalanx hostile. Kill Phalanx. If Chromie Time is enabled, Blackrock Depths' level range is , but can only be queued if you're using Chromie Time on the Cataclysm expansion.

Check more information on Chromie Time in our guide! High Interrogator Gerstahn — The Twilight's Hammer cultist Gerstahn has always indulged in life's finer things: exotic foods, fine clothes, and gem-encrusted torture tools. Day and night, her prisoners' bloodcurdling cries echo throughout the Dark Iron clan's infamous Detention Block. Gerstahn proudly calls this horrific noise her symphony of screams, and she is always eager to add another voice to the chorus.

Lord Roccor — Lord Roccor loathes the scheming and backstabbing of his fellow fire elementals. To avoid serving alongside his kind in the Molten Core, the mighty being purposefully angered the Firelord. Roccor's risky gambit paid off: he was expelled from the core and forced to guard Blackrock Depths in isolation.

Houndmaster Grebmar — Grebmar Fleabeard's hounds are the only family he's ever known. Long ago, the orphaned dwarf began breeding canines to serve as companions and guard dogs. When the houndmaster isn't patrolling Blackrock Depths with his loyal beasts, he often treats them to the Grim Guzzler's finest Dark Iron ale. Ring of Law — There is only one punishment for crimes committed against the Dark Iron dwarves: death.

Ancient tradition calls for the guilty to pay the blood price in the Ring of the Law by battling savage creatures gathered from across Azeroth.

To date, it is unknown if anyone has ever survived this brutal crucible. Pyromancer Loregrain — Once a respected member of the Earthen Ring, Loregrain joined the Twilight's Hammer cult for reasons that remain a mystery to his former allies. He eventually journeyed to Blackrock Depths, where he took a sudden interest in the famed Dark Iron architect Franclorn Forgewright.

The purpose of his current obsession is unclear, but Loregrain remains loyal to his cult and an enemy of all who oppose it. Lord Incendius — Baron Geddon taught Incendius to harness his destructive powers, but the baron never expected his protege to grow so lethally efficient. Increasingly wary that Incendius might usurp him, Geddon sent the blazing elemental out of the Molten Core to guard the Dark Iron dwarves' fabled Black Anvil.

Warder Stilgiss — After years of dedication to Emperor Thaurissan, the cunning mage Stilgiss was entrusted with protecting his clan's coffers in the Black Vault.

The loyal dwarf's close friend Houndmaster Grebmar celebrated the occasion by gifting one of his vicious dogs--Verek--to Stilgiss. The mage has put the beast to good use, keeping it at his side to scare off the vault's would-be thieves. Fineous Darkvire — Chief Architect Fineous Darkvire earned his title by passing off the ideas of more gifted masons as his own. His arrogance and scheming have drawn the ire of his predecessor, Franclorn Forgewright, from beyond the grave.

The ghost of the late chief architect seeks to reclaim his incredibly powerful hammer--Ironfel--from Darkvire before it can be used for ill. Ragnaros pulled the giant from the heart of the Firelands to guard a massive sealed door at one end of the highway.

According to legend, only the Firelord and the Dark Iron clan's highest-ranking members know what lies beyond the mysterious gate. General Angerforge — Through a lifetime of study, General Angerforge has become an expert on dwarven military history and tactics.

He recently incurred Emperor Dagran Thaurissan's fury by writing a scathing treatise on his clan's failures in past conflicts. This political blunder aside, Angerforge is a Dark Iron to his core. He will bleed--and die, if necessary--to protect his people and his emperor. Golem Lord Argelmach — Argelmach's lifelong obsession with immortality drove him to forge enchanted constructs in his own image. Rumor has it that he has also dabbled in some form of black magic that would allow the golem lord's new creations to act as vessels for his spirit should his flesh-and-blood body be destroyed.

Hurley Blackbreath — To say Blackbreath is a regular at the Grim Guzzler would be something of an understatement. In over a decade, the mischievous drunkard has left the tavern only once to steal a top-secret recipe for Thunderbrew Lager. Blackbreath has occasionally sobered up enough to make the concoction himself, and he claims it grants unimaginable strength and courage.

Phalanx — Until recently, drunken brawls raged within the Grim Guzzler on an almost daily basis. Barkeep Plugger Spazzring has reduced the frequency of these scuffles with Phalanx, a mighty golem bouncer programmed to maintain order in the tavern and eliminate raucous patrons with extreme force. Plugger Spazzring — They say that at the Grim Guzzler everyone knows your name. This sense of camaraderie is due to the hard work of Spazzring, a leper gnome who sought a new life in Blackrock Depths after the fall of Gnomeregan.

Despite his history of dabbling with evil as a warlock, he takes pride in his job as the tavern's barkeep, making sure that his patrons' mugs never run dry. Ambassador Flamelash — For his unwavering service to Ragnaros, Flamelash ascended to the rank of ambassador to the Dark Iron clan. This depraved being initially despised his dwarven allies, but he has come to respect their penchant for destruction. As a show of solidarity, Flamelash guards the Chamber of Enchantment, a sacred location used by the dwarves to empower their weaponry.

The Seven — Centuries ago, sorcerer-thane Thaurissan and seven of his most powerful Dark Iron allies accidentally summoned Ragnaros into Azeroth and damned their entire clan to enslavement. Although the Seven perished during the ritual, their restless spirits still linger in Blackrock Depths, cursed to serve their elemental master and the current Dark Iron ruler.

Magmus — Ambassador Flamelash charged the molten giant Magmus with guarding Emperor Dagran Thaurissan's throne room, but not even this act put the Dark Iron ruler's concerns to rest.

Ever fearful of assassins, the emperor also granted Magmus control over a series of fire-breathing statues outside his royal chambers.

Debate rages over whether the emperor ensorcelled his bride or she willingly joined him. Whatever the truth, Thaurissan's continued presence bodes ill for the future of his clan. So long as he lives, the Dark Irons will remain pawns of Ragnaros, and a dire threat to kingdoms throughout Azeroth. The depths are inhabited by Dark Iron dwarves , their demonic bloodhound pets, their golem creations, and their fire elemental allies.

There is also a contingent of Twilight's Hammer ambassadors inside the city and the detention block area. The dwarves in the Depths consist primarily of warrior and priest types with a handful of paladins. Outside Shadowforge City, the dwarves are all elite. Inside the city, one can find groups of two to three elite dwarves and Twilight cultists surrounded by a cadre of non-elite citizens. Some other humanoid races appear in the city and in the Ring of Law event.

The demonic bloodhounds in the Depths are renowned for their ability to sniff out stealthed rogues and druids. They will sometimes appear as a separate pack of three, and sometimes included in a group patrolling alongside a dwarf.

All of the dogs are non-elite, but their damage capability in large numbers is not to be underestimated. The golems and fire elementals in the Depths generally fit the stereotypes of their types. The golems are strong and well-armored melee attackers, though some exceptional specimens have the ability to release single-target or area-of-effect fire spells.

The fire elementals dish out large amounts of fire damage with melee attacks and ranged fire spells. Blackrock Depths is one of the two where [ Dark Iron Ore ] can be mined reliably, the other location being Molten Core. The Black Forge, located at the far back of the dungeon near a portal to Molten Core, is the only place where dark iron ore can be smelted into bars.

The Black Anvil can be found in the center of the dungeon, where Lord Incendius patrols. It is required for most crafting recipes that use dark iron bars.

As such, a run in BRD is essential to most blacksmithing or engineering work which uses that rare metal. Since these recipes are principally armor with heavy fire resistance values, they are not frequently crafted anymore except for novelty.

Scattered around Blackrock Depths are Blacksmithing Plans which appear as scrolls that can be clicked on with a gear icon. Only a high level Blacksmith should click on these plans, if anyone without high level blacksmithing attempts to use them the plans will be destroyed.

Opening the scroll will teach you one of the following BoP plans:. Overmaster Pyron , who patrols in the Masonary in front of the instance, drops [ Pattern: Cloak of Fire ]. Celebrated by both the Horde and the Alliance, the Brewfest is a time to enjoy the fermented fruits of the harvest. Players can venture to Blackrock Depths and defeat Coren Direbrew to get epic loot.

The [ Keg-Shaped Treasure Chest ] is gained when defeating him the first time every day, which can contain an epic mount. The mount is not a guaranteed drop, but the mounts are not faction-specific. Blackrock Deeps is a dungeon located under the Blackrock Spire fortress.

One of the more talented masons of the Dark Iron clan , Franclorn Forgewright , created this dungeon after Ragnaros was summoned. Rumor has it that Ragnaros dwells here with the remaining Dark Iron dwarves who do his bidding.

No one can get inside, though any who try and manage to survive babble about armies made of moving stone. One wonders what Ragnaros plans to do with this army once he retakes the fortress from the draconic forces that control the upper levels. Wowpedia Explore. Main Page All Pages. World of Warcraft. Register Don't have an account? Blackrock Depths. The hallway outside runs left to right. Turn left into the Domicile area and make your way through, keeping left and pulling the mobs carefully so you don't aggro more than one group at a time.

Beyond the Domicile area is a balcony, off which is the Relic Vault, where you can find the Heart of the Mountain. Before going into the vault, make sure your party has 12 relic coffer keys with you. These keys are random drops from the dwarf mobs you've been fighting so far, so chances are that you will have 12 by the time you get to the vault. If you don't have 12 keys, you can proceed to Fineous Darkvire see next section and come back to the Vault later.

Fight the mobs in the first room and the three elite dwarves inside the vault room. There are also three inactive golems here that will come to life once all twelve coffers are opened.

An elite mob called Watchman Doomgrip also spawns so be ready for a fight before you open the last one. Killing Doomgrip spawns the Heart of the Mountain. The gem respawns after a few seconds, so everyone in the party who has the quest can loot it. Above the Heart of the Mountain is another locked coffer, which can only be opened with a Dark Coffer Key. To find that key, go back to the first room and click on a portrait on the left wall.

This portrait contains a message telling you where to find the Dark Coffer key keeper. The key keeper spawns in several locations around the vault area, usually in the Domicile and Arena, and is accompanied by two non-elite guards.

For this reason, it's not advisable to do this quest unless you have done the Ring of Law event. Otherwise, you run the risk of getting mobbed by the spectators while trying to get to the key keeper and his guards.

After killing the key keeper and looting the Dark Coffer Key, go back into the Vault and open the Dark Coffer to find some nice loot. As you exit the Vault, turn right and go through the next door into the Hall of Crafting. Here you will find several golems guarded by two or three non-elite engineer mobs. Clear the riff-raff and you will eventually come across Fineous Darkvire, the Chief Architect who holds Ironfel, the quest item you need to complete your Dark Iron Legacy quest. Slay him, loot Ironfel, but hang on to it because the nasty fire lord Incendius is just around the corner.

Continue making your way through the Hall of Crafting and out into a hallway guarded by single-pull fire elementals. It is actually possible to walk right by these elementals without aggroing them, IF you have a full party of level 60's but if you are not sure of your aggro range, it's safest to pull them singly and fight them all.

As you emerge from this hallway, you will find Incendius. Pull him back into the hallway and fight him in there, to avoid getting any of your party knocked back into the lava below. After disposing of Incendius, retrace your steps all the way back to the Arena gallery. Do not go into the gallery, but keep going down the hallway.
